Responding to the meaning contained in the conversation transactional (to get Things done) and interpersonal (social) formal and informal uses a simple range of oral language accurately, fluently and acceptable in the context of everyday life and involves a speech act: meet, meeting / parting.

1.      Pre- teaching activity ( 10 minutes )
1.      Addressing students and asking their condition ( greeting )
2.      Taking students attendance and checking the classroom atmosphere.
3.      Students are informed the objectives and activities of today’s lesson.

2.      Whilst – teaching activity  ( 70 minutes  )
1.      Teacher showing a picture and ask the students answer the questions orally based on the picture.
Ok, class what do you think about the picture? What are they doing? Do you think they know each other? Can you guest what did the boy say to his friend?
2.      Teachers ask students to listen and repeat words and expression that Teacher say.

3.      Activity1 Ask the students listen and complete the dialogue pay attention to the responses of greeting, introducing and leave taking.
4.      Activity 2 Ask the students listen carefully and choose the correct responses to the expressions
5.      Activity 3 Ask the students listen another dialogue and answer the following question while they are listening.
6.      Teacher guide the students answer the question and checking students answer.
7.      After discussed the answer teacher ask students to study and identify the expressions that used in the dialogue (what to say expressions) and gives time to discussed and copy the material in the note book.

Activity 1
 Today is the first day at school for Dian. She meets Rian. Then, they introduce each other.
Dian : Good morning. Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Dian.
Rian : Good morning. My name is Rian. Nice to meet you.
Dian : Nice to meet you too. We are in the same class, right? I saw your name in the students' list of my class.
Rian : Yeah, right. By the way, what book is that?
Dian : This is a book about cooking, Mari Mema­sak Sendiri.
Rian : Oh, so you like cooking? I like cooking too.
Dian : Really? Good, so I have a friend to share with. Anyway, I must go now. Bye.
Rian : Bye. Take care.

Soraya : Yes, I have  I’d better be going, or I’ll be late  at my office. Goodbye, Adam.
Adam  : Goodbye, Soraya. See you tomorrow

 Situation 2 In the banquet room was a group of well-dressed people chatting among themselves. Soraya approached one of them
Soraya : Good morning, do you know who Susan Brandy is?
Adam  : She’s over there
Soraya : Thank you. Hi, I am Soraya. How do you do?
Susan   : Hello, Soraya. This is Peter and Teddy. I’m sure you’ve heard of them
Soraya : How do you do, Sir?
Peter    : Hello, My wife has told me a great deal about you.
Soraya  : Nothing too terrible I hope, sir
Peter    : On the contrary. She has said only good things about you.
Soraya  : It’s a pleasure to meet you, sir.
Teddy   : Thank you. You’re looking very well
Soraya  : So are you, sir. I’m so sorry about what happened yesterday
Soraya  : Oh, yes I think we can make everyone comfortable
